Echo started her way across, carefully. Once she got to the other side and placed her arms on her chest.
Linkin then started climbing up.

Ryan followed Echo across the log. Despite his size, he moved with an odd sort of grace and balance, and he was on the other side of the stream within moments. He glanced around thoughtfully.
"I think this could get a little difficult," he mused.
Layla blushed again and smiled shyly at Ali.
"It's just... I'm not used to... being around people," she confessed, glancing upward to watch Linkin climb.

Echo shrugged. "You scared?" she asked, punching him in the arm. She definitely acted like a boy. "Too bad that was the only pocketknife I brought."
Linkin finally reached the top after some struggling and pulled hard to get the bananas

"I have a knife," Thane joked. "I doubt there is anything out here that is going to eat us, since we are on some remote island in the tropics." He looked around for a moment. "Well, we can look around for a shelter, or start building one while the day is young. The choic is yours," he said, motioning to Echo and Ryan.

"Whichever...as long as I can do something. I'm no regular girl," Echo said, thinking back to what her brother said. Was she really that boyish?
Linkin then grabbed as much as he could and slid down a bit carefully, with a few splinters in his hands.

"I was referring to getting a shelter," Ryan replied, looking amused. At Thane's question, he paused and considered carefully. "I doubt we're just going to happen upon a beautiful, fully-built mansion, so I think we'll have to build something."
"Are you o-okay?" Layla asked, gesturing at Linkin's hands when he finally returned to their side. "Well d-done, by the way. Fresh bananas are good," she added with a small smile.

"Thanks," Alison told Linkin gratefully. "Well, I think we have enough bananas to satisfy, but we should keep looking," She turned and began to pick her way gracefully through the undergrowth.
"Oh, but of course. We shall BUILD the magnificent mansion, so that the next people who crash land here have somewhere to stay. Brilliant," Thane joked, and began searching for some wood.

Echo rolled her eyes. "I'll go see if I can find anything for our "oh-so-glorious-mansion"." She thought of the word mansion to be bitter on her tongue. When she was young, she lived in a mansion, but it always felt so empty...empty like she was now. Snapping out of her thoughts, she headed off to find some better lumber.
Linkin jumped down and nodded. "I'm fine...I'll just take those out later." He then looked at Ali and smiled slightly. "You're welcome."

Thane pulled up a long, flat piece of wood. "I think we should build in the edge of the woods by the beach. That way if a boat passes by, or an airplane, we will know. I guess we can just follow the river down to the beach," Thane said, rubbing his hand over the wood. He grabbed a few more pieces that slightly resembled the first piece of wood, then headed downstream.

"Sounds good. We can stick close to the place where we landed," Ryan agreed with a nod. He picked up some large leaves connected to long, thick stems and followed Thane, keeping an eye out for anything else that might be helpful.
Layla nodded and ducked her head shyly.
"There's another bush over there," she murmured, lifting her hand and pointing at a nearby bush full of berries.

Thane nodded. "If we are lucky, some of the plane might have floated ashore," he said. "But I don't know if we can make that mansions roof."
Alison smiled, and pulled out another make up box. She quickly filled it, tasting one of the raspberries.

"I think we'll have to suffice with using slats of wood for ceiling. We'll be lucky if we have even a shack to sleep in before nightfall," Ryan mused thoughtfully.
Layla watched silently. She twirled her hair around her finger in a somewhat nervous fashion, although her expression was neutral, and she wore a slight smile.

"Well, first we need to make a base," Thane said. He began laying down his planks, making enough room for everyone to fit in the hut. "Now, we have enough wood around here to make two huts, one for the girls and one for the guys. Or one for each group. Whichever you want," He said, looking over at Echo and Ryan. "Or we can just make one."
"Well, lets keep moving. I'd say we have half an hour before we should be at the beach," Ali told the other. She turned and began to angle back towards the river. She planned to cross and look for food on the other side, as well as head downstream to the beach.

Linkin nodded and followed. "You think there'd be some good fish that we could get out of the water?"
