Echo shook her head. "Not from this angle," she said, looking back at the stream. She cracked her neck and sighed. "If only I had my skateboard. It may not work on sand or dirt, but it does give me some reassurance," she muttered.
"Don't worry, sis," Linkin said. "It'll take your mind off of those boys anyway."
"They happen to be my friends."

"You skateboard?" Ryan asked, glancing back at Eden and lifting his eyebrows, a grin growing on his features. "That's sexy."
"Ryan," Tanya sighed, shaking her head, although amusement danced in her eyes. He shrugged.
"What? I'm just telling the truth," he retorted, grinning. Then his smile faltered and his brow furrowed. "Well, I guess it doesn't matter anymore."

Echo just shrugged. "Pretty pointless talking about it...we don't know how long we'll be here and I might forget what I can do on the skateboard." She sighed and ran a hand through her tied hair. Then, she looked toward her brother who was grinning.
"Finally, I don't have to worry about you being more manly," he joked.
"Not funny." Echo then punched him in the arm as light as she could, as to not injure her brother.

Ali looked in her bag and pulled out an empty box which once was the packaging around her eye shadow. "Here," she said, handing over the box. She looked over at Echo and sighed on the inside.

"Thanks," Ryan replied with a grin as he accepted the box and placed some berries into it. He slipped the box into one of the many pockets in his shorts.
"Let's go on down the stream," Layla suggested with a shy glance at the others.

A tall muscular figure looked around. His tan skin seemed to flow right into his hot facial features. "Well," he said in a deep voice, "I think we should go upstream, as downstream will take us back to the beach." He looked at Layla's small, shy figure.

Echo crossed her arms over her chest as she looked at Thane. He kind of reminded her of one of her best friends named Kevin. Looking toward the stream, she thought for a moment. "Choose whichever choice you guys want. I'm just wishing I weren't here."
Linkin averted his eyes from Thane after gulping. To lighten his mood, he messed with Echo's hair, in which Echo wasn't to happy about. She swatted his hand away, a scowl evident on her face.

Layla noted the way Linkin acted awkwardly around Thane, and she felt a small, almost sad smile on her features. She hastily recomposed them and glanced up at the tall man himself, and her cheeks burned once more.
"Um. Good idea," she agreed, feeling like an idiot. To get away from her awkwardness, she took the lead and started walking upstream, keeping an eye on both the water and the surrounding flora.

Thane raised a golden eyebrow slightly, but followed upstream. He looked around, searching for edible food. "Well, I suppose we should learn eachother's names, since we will probably be here awhile. And we should get used to it," he said, looking briefly at Echo. "I'm Thane," He said with a wink.
Ali looked up at Thane. Her thoughts became all jumbled up, but she mangaed to say, "Alison, but I prefer Ali." Alison took a deep breath and continued walking.

Echo rolled her eyes and muttered," Echo. That's all you need to know." She then started following after Layla.
"Sorry about her...she's a bit...guyish, but she's completely heterosexual," Linkin said. He sighed as he looked at his sister with a pointed look.

"Layla, and this is my brother, Ryan," Layla answered Thane, indicating herself and her brother. She heard Linkin's comment and worked to conceal her disappointment, which was easier than it had been in the past; she was used to this sort of thing, and she taught herself not to let her hopes get up too high. "What's your name?" she added to Linkin with a curious glance.

Thane nodded in understandig, and smiled. Even though they were stuck on an island, they were lucky.
Ali looked at Linkin. He semed nice, but she wasn't sure. To her, he looked slightly goth. If she had a choice, she would pick Ryan or Thane over Linkin.

Linkin ran a hand through his hair. "Linkin," he said.
Echo scratched her left wrist, which had her BatMan symbol tattoo on it. "I prefer not to be called boyish. Liking skateboarding and comics and video games is not so boyish, now is it?" She crossed her arms over her chest.

"Well," Thane commented, "This is... awkward. Maybe we should split up into groups and one can look for food, the other for shelter?"
