Tanya rose from her armchair after Ben left. She bent down, grabbing up a backpack that had been resting next to her chair, and then she strode out of the room with purposeful grace. She hesitated outside the lounge and again by the door to the cafeteria, but she kept moving until she reached another unmarked door. She flashed an ID card at it and it unlocked. She stepped through the door, which led to a flight of stairs, and she began to climb up.

Raine sighed loudly as she moved down the halls. Of course, she had to miss a meeting. For someone with superhero - or rather radio active reptile - powers, her time management was terrible. Raine figured that an okay place to be is in the lounge, perhaps some other Avengers were there, so that's where she was walking. She walked into the lounge and looked around to the room that was absent of others. She exhaled and rolled her eyes, then sat on the couch, placing her feet on the coffee table and shutting her eyes.

(By the way, guys, I guess it doesn't matter much to you, but I'm gonna make another character or two. I'll probably start on them tonight)
Tanya kept climbing until she reached the top floor. She stepped out the door to be greeted by a panoramic view of Chicago; she was standing on the roof. The wind buffeted her, stirring her fiery red hair, and she smiled into it. She moved forward and crouched at the edge of the roof, gazing down at the small, flitting creatures on the ground. This is my city, she thought, and she felt a surge of regret that she was leaving it. But I'll be back. Soon. With that promise, she felt herself relax. She leaned back to gaze up at the sky, and her smile softened.

(Yayers, I get extra points ^_^ By the way, when they are at the Avengers hide-out place, do they wear their superhero outfits or just regular clothes? )
Raine thought for a moment, then decided to go to the training arena. She wanted to work on her defensive skills, and this was a perfect time to do it. She opened her eyes and stood, then walked across the room and out the door.

"I didn't say anything bad about him. I said I was disgusted at how the tabloids only talked about Spiderman. I was getting tired of reading the cover of every magazine, newpaper, et cetera and having to find it about Spiderman," Linkin said, rising and heading out of the room.
Eden headed out of the room and went down the hall to the elevator.

(I hope ya'll don't mind skipping the hour of free time. We can have a bit more detail when it comes to the plane ride)
Exactly fifty-five minutes later, Tanya descended the stairs and returned to the lounge. She stood near her chair, backpack slung over her back and ready to go, as she waited for the others to join her. She impatiently twirled a lock of hair around her finger.

Raine walked down the hall to the lounge and opened the door. She carried a simple leather briefcase that seemed brand new. She looked to Tanya and forced a polite smile.
"Are you looking forward to leaving?" She asked, trying to look for a conversation.

Tanya considered the question with a serious, thoughtful expression on her face.
"I've lived in Chicago my whole life," she stated finally after a silent moment or two. "Leaving it won't feel right, 'cause this time I think I'm leaving for a longer amount of time than it took to gather you guys." She shot a slightly amused glance at Raine. "That said, I have been to NYC once or twice, and it is a beautiful city, despite the high crime rate. So, I look forward to going, but I'm a bit reluctant to leave this city behind without me to watch over it."

Allyce stepped out of the shadows, a black leather purse hung at her side. She looked at Raine and Tanya, then stepped towards the door.
Ben stood down in the training room, his bare chest covered in sweat. He continued his weight lifting, stopping around 200 lifts. He smiled, proud of himself, then glanced at the clock. He wiped his face with a clean white towel and threw his shirt in his bag. Ben ran up the stairs with superhuman speed and elegance, stopping halfway up. He ducked into a bathroom and controlled his water powers. The water sprayed onto him, then evaporated off. He walked into the lounge with a new shirt on, and water glistening in his hair. "So, where are we picking Spiderman up?" He asked.

"New York City. Geez, weren't you listening to Tanya's speech earlier?" Felicia teased as she slipped into the room. She moved with surprising speed and a lack of sound for a person who was effectively half-machine. Her words could have been taken in a condescending, offensive sort of way, but the good humored expression she shot Ben nearly erased any chance of that. Her features were light and open, as they always were.

"I knew that, I suppose I should re-phrase my question. Where in NY are we picking up Spider Man?" Ben said, then stood up, looking Felicia up and down adding, "And you are?" He had not met Felicia before.
Allyce looked over at Ben. She supposed that she was giving off an awkward vibe, though she was anything but. Deciding to have a bit of fun, she decided to mess around with her powers. Allyce had not discovered much about her powers, besides the fact that she could meld into the shadows, so she was always trying new things, to see what else- if there was anything else- that she could do. Shadows began to swirl around her hands as she thought about Ben and Felicia. She was somewhat surprised Ben hadn't known about her, since he wasn't new to the agency. In her head, she replayed the conversation, deciding to focus on the two people. She jumped as she felt a tingle on her fingers and watched as Felicia and Ben's shadows disappeared. "Oh! I'm sorry, I don't-" Their shadows came back, but Ben had felicia's and Felicia had Ben's. "S***," She mumbled. "How..." She stared at her hands, then at the shadows.

"Oh, sorry- I'm Felicia," the ginger answered apologetically just before Allyce's little trick.
"We'll have to find him at his house. He doesn't know we're coming, much as none of you knew I was coming," Tanya replied in a distracted manner- she had been checking her bag. At Allyce's muffle swear, her head rose to face them and she lifted an eyebrow. Her gaze drifted down to the shadows, where Felicia was gazing with surprised curiosity. There was complete silence for a moment, then: "Fix that, please. I'd appreciate it if you guys avoided using your powers within headquarters." Something deadly ran beneath Tanya's tone of forced cheerfulness, and her amber eyes were growing oddly.

"Well...." Allyce said in a squeaky voice. "See, I'm not exactly surehow," She admitted, her tone returned to its usual quiet.
Ben looked down at his new shadow. "I look pretty good, thanks for letting me lose a few inches and pounds," He said sarcastically. "Why can't we use our power here?" He asked, looking at Tanya. His blue eyes seemed to ripple, like they were made of water.

(conny, you don't have to capitalize the first letter after a bit of dialogue. I quote: "'See, I'm not exactly sure how, She admitted, her tone returned to its usual quiet." That 'She' doesn't have to be capitalized, and neither does the 'He' after Ben's words.)
"Well, I suggest you work on it," Tanya told Allyce quietly, lifting an eyebrow. Then, before she could answer Ben's question, another person spoke up.
"Think about it. If we all use our powers here in headquarters, there are all sorts of liabilities and possible accidents waiting to happen." The boy- or, rather, young man- who spoke had a sort of derisive tone in his voice; he seemed to be the complete opposite of kind Felicia. He stood by the shadows, similar to Allyce, except that the shadows didn't seem to fold over him. He hadn't spoken or even so much as looked at anyone until this moment. Now he lifted his dark eyes to look at Ben with an inscrutable expression. "Especially being as some of us aren't complete masters of our... abilities yet." Alec's gaze flickered sideways to Allyce- not in a pointed manner, exactly, but rather just an acknowledgement of something they all knew to be as fact.

(Okay, I think I understand...)
Allyce's face seemed to cover up in shadow, which flowed down and covered the rest of her. It was partly out of surprise, and partly out of embaressment. "Sorry, that part just sort of happens. I guess you call it instinct- meaning I can't really control melding if I am in a corner. Well I can, but it is really hard to," Allyce said, or rather a disembodied voice said, and it sounded like Allyce.
Ben nodded in understanding. He looked at the young man, "Oh, I've missed you. Ya know, I get worried when you don't answer my texts, tweets, or facebook messages," Ben said, mock concern in his voice.
