This is where everybody keeps their horses. (Sorry, no private barns at home!) Naturally, it is fairly large, with over fourty stalls, five wash stalls, two tack rooms, two feeding rooms, a washing room with a washing machine, bathrooms and two changing rooms. There are multiple large paddocks and a few smaller ones for more solitary horses. Nearby are the arenas and the woods, which will all have a separate page.

Ashlyn arrived at the stables, whistling off-key like she often did. She only did this in public, however; when she was certain that she was the only one around, she would actually whistle through whole songs with surprising talent. For whatever reason, she didn't like attracting that kind of attention. Her whistling softened when she approached her gelding, Dappled Shadow- or Shadow- and she smiled at him, her expression one of tenderness that she only showed to her horse. She stroked his forelock before going over to the feed room to make his and Luna's breakfast.

Elianna and Alexander drove up in a pretty looking Nissan. It wasn't expensive, but it sure did look like it. They stepped out, Elianna dressed in riding attire, Alexander in jeans and a polo. Elianna went to greet her horses, pausing to say hi to Ashlyn.
Alexander walked into the tack room, pulling his saddle pads out of the dryer and putting them away. He then went and cleaned Dancer's stall, putting the gelding in cross ties in the aisle. He took all of the shaving out and dumped them; they were getting moldy. He then filled the stall half a foot deep with shvings, and piled them higher on the walls at a diagnol. The finished look was very pretty. To top it off, he threw a flake of hay in the corner, then groomed his horse.

"Morning, you two," Ash greeted Anna and Alex in a neutral tone. So far, she didn't really have anything against the pair, but they hadn't exactly done much to win her affection, either. Not that she really expected them to. In fact, she was rather surprised that they had greeted her at all. Maybe they were just being polite. But still, it was almost kind of them.

Matt pulled up to the barn and parked his truck. As he walked in, he saw Ash, Anna, and Alex and nodded a greeting as he walked past. He walked into the feed room and gathered Jack's food. Jack, knowing what time it was, pressed up against the stall door, waiting. Matt walked over, patted his horse, and fed him.
As Matt was feeding Jack, Scarlette arrived. She smiled and waved to everyone as she passed. Shamrock nickered to Scar so she petted the pony. Then she went and got her feed and fed her.

Ash nodded in a response to Matt and later Scarlett. Her gaze was still guarded, as usual. She picked up the horses' feed and carried it over to the horses, setting one bucket down in Luna's stall and the other in Shadow's stall. She lingered next to the door of the gelding's stall, watching him inscrutably.

Elianna tapped the gate a few times and watched as her mares trotted up to her. She let out a laugh and patted them, bringing her Rocky Mountain Horse- Perpetual Twilight- in to the barn. She snapped her into the cross ties and began to curry her, then use a body brush. She then applied a soft brush, and fianally used a clean cloth to wipe of any leftover dust. Anna picked out her hooves, and brushed Twilight's mane and tail to perfection. Satisfied, she wrapped Twilight's legs and put her saddle on, using a pad that matched the polo wraps. When she finished tacking up, she briefly said hi to those who just walked in. Then she went for a ride. Alexander sighed, and put his gelding out in the pasture. Rain Dancer seemed to limp on one leg, keeping the weight off it, indicating lameness. Alex whipped out his cell and dialed the vet, taking time to carefully describe the symptoms. "Bye," He told the vet who was coming at 7PM. Alexander brought the pony back in, and soaked his leg in a bucket with warm water and epsom salts.

Linkin tried not to get distracted by his sister, who was singing a random song. He parked and got out, his sister following. Being friendly, Brooklyn waved at the others. "Hi!" she would greet in a chipper tone.

"Hello," Scarlette answered Brooklyn. She took her pony, Shamrock, out of her stall and began to groom her. Matt nodded in response to Brooklyn.

Brooklyn smiled and headed over to her mare's stall, while Linkin went to Ryder's stall.

Ash only nodded in response to Brooklyn's overly enthusiastic greeting. She wore her wary poker face again, the one she used when she was uncomfortable or irritated- or about anything, really. Being around people made her uncomfortable, unless they were her brother. She slid into her gelding's stall and grabbed a curry comb. She proceeded to groom him, and she felt better almost immediately. Being with her horse was soothing in a way that nothing else really was.

Ashlyn proceeded to tack up her horse, and within a few minutes she had mounted and she was riding him out of the stables. She guided him toward the indoor arena, unaware that Anna was already there.
