Luna just shook her head, anger and annoyance flashing through her eyes. She had been aware of Swift's inconvenient sense of adventure and independence, and it had gotten the other mare into trouble before, but she refused to deal with it now. "Swift probably wandered off to take cover somewhere else. Don't worry," she told Splash in a leaderly, reassuring- if a bit brusque- manner. She flicked her ear as a drop of water fell on it. Even standing under the trees, it was impossible to stay completely dry.
"I am the one who belongs in this forest," the low tone answered Swift's demand, not sounding fazed at all. It seemed to have shifted positions, coming from behind her now instead of in front of her, but the owner of the voice had yet to reveal himself. And it was definitely a he- there was a dark ring of masculinity in his tone.

Splash opened her mouth to answer, but Rainheart interrupted her. "Swift's missing," she answered darkly. "And we don't know where she's gone." "Well, of course," said Splash cynically, smarting after being interrupted by Rainheart. "She wouldn't be missing if we'd known where she was, would she?" Splash huffed and walked into the treeline, shaking her hooves and mane. Water sprayed from her.

"She's probably fine, Rainheart. If she doesn't come back here by the time the storm's over, we'll go look for her," Luna answered reassuringly. Her gaze flickered sideways to Shadefur, and he offered her a miniscule nod. She smiled in response and added, "No need to endanger the rest of us by wandering around in the rain."

Vega nodded, shaking the water out of her long, tangled mane. After giving everyone a small shower, she pinned her ears back and ducked her head down.
"I could go look... I love the rain, and I can easily take care of some rainrot," Calypso offered. "If she got into trouble, we might not have until after the rain." She would do mostly anything to be in the rain.

Splash ducked away from the water splashing from Vega's mane. "That's crazy!" she hufffed, shaking her neck and more water drizzled down. "The storm's getting stronger." And the storm was--rain was pounding the ground and the wind was hurtling through the trees, the branches rattling.
(Can there be a tornado?)
Rainheart glanced uneasily up at the water leaking through the leaves. "Aaah," she shivered, a chill spreading through her. "I think we should look for Swift," she said, nodding to Calypso.

"Well, what if she went into the forest?" Calypso said. "We need to find her; what if she got trapped somewhere? She could get hurt, really badly. Besides, we can take care of our selves," Calypso said quietly. She wasn't trying to argue or be mean- she just wanted to state her point.
"Sorry, I'm not going to go, my mane doesn't do this sort of weather," Vega said. She figured that Swift would show up eventually.

(Meh, I don't think a tornado is necessary this early on. We already have Swift off in the forest, as Calypso calls it; we have enough drama going on for the moment.)
"Guys, Luna already said no. Twice," Shadefur reminded the others, his tone slightly rebuking. Luna nodded, her gaze resolute. "It's too dangerous. If you wander off and get lost in the rain, we won't be able to track you because your scent will be washed away by the water. Stay here." Her words were as hard and unrelenting as her sharp gaze.

(aww, okay. How come your post is in a quote box?)
Swift was taken aback. She gave a brief neigh, and circled wildly. "Who are you, really?! Tell me! Show yourself!" she cried. Swift was brave, but confronted by a dark voice in the midst of a still, evil forest, while rain pounded outside the shadowed woods, even the bravest would crumble.
Rainheart nodded regretfully. Luna had told them what to do, and now--oh well.
